Dawn’s vessels are thrown altered and marked. The various indentations, abstract marks and additions to the surface are symbolic of a life’s journey. Beauty can be found in the acknowledgement of our struggles, fears and the search for healing, and in the acceptance of impactful significant events. Added gilt is a reference to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the restoring of a broken vessel with gold, bringing renewed purpose, value and worth.
