Emily Hughes

Emily’s body of work consists of hand-built slab vessels. She is inspired by the landscape in which she lives- created from and shaped by the slate industry. Through mark making, she represents the form, the textures and lines scaring the mountain side in contrast to its surrounding landscape. She has always been interested in juxtaposition between nature and man-made endeavours.
