Jeremy Nichols
Jeremy Nichols altered wheel thrown shapes inspired by architectural design and decorated with Saltglazes. His precise forms are a nod to an early interest in engineering. In his youth he made high performance model gliders and studied Aeronautical Engineering at Manchester University. But, it was during a 20-year career as social worker that he discovered clay. He began making pots to unwind after work. Rediscovering the absorbing satisfaction of making he was accepted onto the Workshop Ceramics degree course at the University of Westminster and graduated with a first in 1997.
