Fiona Thompson
Fiona’s most recent series explores our complex relationship with the domestic farm animal. She explores how they are presented to us as products through the filter of images and advertising, which can glossed over the often-polarizing views on the subject. The pieces are constructed as abstract but familiar vessels forms. She explores surface layering, textures, discord, opposites, and contrasts. Snippets of texts refer to the language of how animals and their implied function are described, reflecting the overwhelming and complex layers of language around the subject.
